What does a UserTesting contributor do?

A UserTesting contributor, sometimes referred to as a website tester, completes tasks on a website, app, or prototype and speaks their thoughts out loud.

There are two types of tests you can take as a contributor. One is called Live Conversation—a live interview with one of UserTesting’s customers. You'll meet with a customer via videoconference, and they'll ask you what you think about products or experiences in a casual conversation.

The other is a recorded, self-guided test (sometimes called an unmoderated test) that you take in your own time, by yourself, on your mobile or desktop devices.

Do contributors need to speak certain languages?

We require all applicants to speak English, German, or French during their practice test. While you don’t need to be a native English, German, or French speaker to apply, you do need to be comfortable reading, writing, and speaking in English, German, or French to be a UserTesting contributor.

Additionally, once you’re accepted to the UserTesting Contributor Network, you can take tests that require other languages you speak if they become available.
