Archive is seeking a Backend Engineer to help build and enhance its e-commerce marketplace platform for branded resale, working with major brands like The North Face, Diane von Furstenberg, and New Balance. You will contribute to scalable, high-performance systems that support sustainability by extending the lifecycle of goods.
What You’ll Do
- Build and optimize retail websites with a focus on usability, design, and performance.
- Extend the customizable, themeable e-commerce platform to meet diverse brand requirements.
- Improve frontend infrastructure, including GraphQL APIs, server-side rendering, and edge computing.
- Collaborate in a mentorship-driven engineering environment to enhance system architecture.

- Frontend: Next.js, React, Redux, Apollo Client (Typescript), Firebase Auth
- Backend: Node.js (Typescript), Hasura GraphQL Engine, Python
- Database: PostgreSQL
- Infrastructure: AWS, Terraform, Vercel
What Makes You a Strong Fit
- Proficiency in Typescript, Python, SQL, and Java (or equivalent).
- Experience building and shipping scalable, high-performance services.
- Ability to balance complexity, sustainability, and speed of delivery.
- Bonus: Experience with GraphQL, React, or technical customer-facing roles.
