Role Title: Junior Transactional Attorney

Role Type: Contractor

Location: Remote

Job Summary: We are seeking Junior Transactional Attorneys for a part-time role at the forefront of legal AI. This opportunity is for early-career lawyers who want to help shape how advanced AI is trained, evaluated, and applied in real-world legal work, especially those who have foundational experience with drafting, reviewing, and redlining within the tech field.

In this role, you will review, assess, and contribute to contract redlining workflows used to train and evaluate state-of-the-art AI models. Your work will directly improve how these systems identify risk and interpret contract language to create tools with improved precision and legal judgment.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform simulated contract negotiations and redlining exercises.

Review and assess AI responses to contract scenarios, providing feedback to improve model performance and output precision.

Apply objective evaluation frameworks and grading criteria to assess AI performance on contract tasks with rigor and consistency.

Collaborate with product and research teams to refine data, guidelines, and best practices for AI-driven contract review solutions.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

1–3 years of experience (in-house or law firm) focused on transactional work, with exposure to agreements such as MSAs and NDAs.

Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with meticulous attention to detail.

Strong analytical capabilities and ability to translate legal knowledge into actionable feedback for AI systems.

Demonstrated interest in innovation at the intersection of law and technology.

Ability to work with cross-disciplinary teams in fast-paced environments.

Preferred Qualifications:

Prior exposure to AI, legal tech, or training initiatives.

Experience or internship at a corporate law firm, ideally touching M&A or fund formation work.

Why Join:

This is an opportunity to work at the intersection of law and technology.

You will help define how AI is developed for a new generation of legal practitioners.

You will build your experience in a high-impact research environment.

Application screening questions

How soon can you start the work? (in days)

What is your expected hourly rate in USD?

How many hours per week are you available to work?

In which US state(s)/jurisdiction(s) are you currently licensed to practice law? Please select from the list below.

Please provide your bar number, license number, or state attorney registration ID. For jurisdictions that do not issue a bar number (e.g., New York), please list your full registered name or Attorney Registration Number.

How many years of experience do you have specifically in commercial contract review and negotiation? Please describe this experience aswell.

Walk me through a live deal where you let a "bad" clause stay, or where you stopped redlining even though the draft wasn't perfect. What was the commercial reason? Please use general terms only (deal type, clause, posture). Do not share client or counterparty names, dollar amounts, or other details that could identify a specific matter. We only need to understand your judgment, not the underlying client.

A client sends you a counterparty's one-sided NDA two hours before a product demo. What do you read first, what do you push on, and what do you let go?

How often have you actually done hands-on commercial contract review and negotiation, and walk me through the kinds of deals you've handled. Volume, deal types, and your role.
